Anti-Ragging Policy
JMN Medical College is committed to providing all students with a safe, respectful, and conducive learning environment. Ragging, in any form, is strictly prohibited within the college’s premises, including its hostels, classrooms, labs, and any other areas under the college’s jurisdiction. This policy aims to create awareness, prevent incidents of ragging, and outline the consequences for those found guilty of engaging in such activities.
Definition of Ragging:
Ragging encompasses any form of physical, mental, verbal, or psychological abuse or harassment inflicted upon a fellow student, whether a fresher or a senior. This includes but is not limited to, bullying, intimidation, coercion, humiliation, and any act that causes distress or discomfort to the victim.

Regular awareness programs, workshops, and orientation sessions shall be conducted to educate students about the consequences of ragging and the importance of fostering a culture of respect and empathy.
Information regarding the anti-ragging policy, including definitions, reporting procedures, and consequences, shall be disseminated through various channels, including the college website, student handbooks, and notice boards.

- Any form of sexual harassment, coercion, or molestation.
- Psychological intimidation, such as threats, stalking, or spreading rumours to cause fear or distress.
- All students, faculty, and staff are responsible for upholding this anti-ragging policy and promptly reporting any incidents or suspicions of ragging to the anti-ragging committee.
- Faculty members and administrative staff shall actively monitor the campus and hostel premises to ensure compliance with this policy.
- Senior students are encouraged to lead by example and contribute to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for their juniors.
- Any student found guilty of ragging, either as a perpetrator or a bystander, shall face disciplinary action as per the college’s regulations.
- Penalties may include suspension, expulsion, fines, and legal consequences as per the severity of the offence.
- In addition to disciplinary action, counselling or rehabilitation programs may be mandated for students involved in ragging, focusing on behaviour modification and empathy building.
