Objective

The International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on 8th of March to recognise and honour the achievements, struggles and rights of women across the globe. It promotes gender equality by raising awareness about the various issues like unequal pay, discrimination and lack of opportunities. Women’s Day was internationally recognised by United Nations in 1975.The United Nations theme for International Women’s Day 2026 is ”Rights, Justice, Action, For All Women and Girls”. JMN Medical College focused on educating the students to treat all genders as equal and encourage an environment, free from gender harassment by organising a cultural celebration.

Cultural Celebration: 11 AM onwards

The program commenced with a ceremonial lamp lighting, followed by an inspirational speech by respected Principal Prof Dr Amita Ray and beloved trustee Mrs Sila Singh Ghosh. The cultural celebration were gracefully hosted by two students of Phase I MBBS.

The ceremony were taken forward by the breathtaking performances of the students that includes song, dance, and speech specially focusing on the immense role of women in life, their resilience  and contribution to society.

Audiovisual Display: 1 PM

The audiovisual show took place which was prepared specially by the IT Department of JMN Medical College focusing on the extraordinary contribution of women in the College, “Women’s of JMN”.

Cake cutting Ceremony: 1:15PM

As part of the International Women’s Day celebration a cake cutting ceremony was organized to honor and appreciate the achievement and strength of women. The moment reflected joy, togetherness and respect for womanhood.
