Faculty Development Programme
A well-structured Faculty Development Programme on mentoring was successfully conducted, bringing together educators for an insightful and engaging session.
The programme began with Dr. Aditi Saha, who briefly explored the history of mentoring, setting a thoughtful context for the session. This was followed by Dr. Suprasanna Bandyopadhyay, who discussed the methodology of mentoring, highlighting practical approaches to guide and support students effectively.
Further enriching the session, Dr. Supriya Verma elaborated on the benefits of mentoring at four levels, emphasising its impact on both personal and professional growth.
One of the most engaging segments was the role-play session led by Mrs. Namrata Chatterjee, Dr. Anu Singh, and Dr. Suprasanna Bandyopadhyay. Through scenarios like “Mission Relocation: Pivoting Gracefully from ‘I Can’t’ to ‘I Will’” and “The Night Before: Navigating Last-Minute Exam Nerves,” participants experienced real-life mentoring challenges and solutions.
The programme concluded with an interactive Open Forum conducted by Dr. Amita Ray and Dr. Riya Das, encouraging meaningful discussion and knowledge exchange among faculty members.
Overall, the session proved to be highly impactful, fostering a deeper understanding of mentoring practices and strengthening the commitment to student development.
