Doctor’s Day, celebrated annually on 1st July in India, is a tribute to the selfless contributions of doctors to society and marks the birth and death anniversary of the great physician, educationist, and freedom fighter Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. In keeping with this noble tradition, JMN Medical College, Chakdaha celebrated Doctor’s Day 2025 with immense enthusiasm, reverence, and creativity. The event was held at Chaplin Hall, beautifully adorned to mark the significance of the day.
The celebration was graced by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Amita Ray and Trustee Member Dr. Sila Singh Ghosh, along with faculty members, administrative staff, and the students of both senior and junior batches. The entire event stood as a heartfelt homage to the medical fraternity and a celebration of the spirit of healing, compassion, and dedication that doctors bring to society.

Opening Ceremony
The program commenced with invoking the divine blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the symbol of knowledge and wisdom. The Ganesh Vandana, performed melodiously by students Madhubony Roy, Dishani Nandi, Triparna Ghosh, and Srijita Das, set a spiritual and serene tone for the event. Their harmonized voices and soulful rendition created a sacred ambiance, instilling positivity and calmness in the atmosphere.
This was followed by the formal opening of the program by the Masters of Ceremony (MoCs), Srijita Sarkar and Pratyush Metya, who extended a warm welcome to the esteemed guests, faculty members, and students. They conducted the proceedings of the event with clarity, charm, and grace.
The Welcome Address was then delivered by Principal Ma’am, Prof. (Dr.) Amita Ray, who spoke about the invaluable role of doctors in society, especially in the light of current global healthcare challenges. She encouraged the budding medical professionals to uphold the values of ethics, service, and compassion. Trustee Member Dr. Sila Singh Ghosh also addressed the gathering, sharing motivating insights and emphasizing the importance of dedication and integrity in the medical profession.
Cultural Performances
The cultural segment began with an exuberant group dance performance by first-year students Ishita Prodhan, Avipsha Ganguly, Kristi Maitra, and Siza Halder. The performance was a vibrant expression of energy and grace, celebrating the spirit of youth, dedication, and unity in the medical journey.
The event continued with a thought-provoking tribute to Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, presented by senior batch students Anupreeta and Subhashree Mahapatra. They eloquently remembered the life, struggles, and extraordinary contributions of Dr. Roy, setting the stage for a more immersive musical drama that followed.
This theatrical presentation brought Dr. Roy’s legacy to life through a brilliantly executed dramatization by the students Rejaul Karim Momin, Subhrakash, Srijita Sarkar, Avipsha Roy, Pratyush Metya, Deep Biswas, Aditi Prasad, and Aranyak Saha, with narration by Pratim Mazumdar. The storyline covered his journey as a physician, statesman, and visionary, leaving the audience both inspired and emotionally moved.


Interactive Quiz Segment
To bring a light-hearted yet intellectually engaging twist to the program, an interactive quiz session was organized involving both faculty members and students. The session was hosted by the dynamic Quizmaster Anuska Banerjee, who engaged the audience with clever questions, rapid-fire rounds, and impromptu humor. The quiz not only tested medical knowledge but also brought moments of joy, laughter, and bonding.
Amidst the fun, Principal Ma’am shared stories and experiences that tied in with the principles upheld by Dr. B. C. Roy, thereby deepening the educational value of the session.





Musical Segment & Performances
The musical segment of the program was one of its most awaited parts. Students Srijita Das, Anuska Banerjee, Bikram Chakraborty, and Aranyak Saha captivated the audience with their soulful voices and expressive singing. Their carefully selected songs created an emotionally uplifting experience and allowed everyone—especially the doctors—a rare moment to unwind.
Adding a unique and humorous dimension to the event, the student music band ‘Chaar Chaka’, made up of four friends who share a common bond through music and medicine, performed a witty and entertaining set. The band members Pratyush Metya, Aranyak Saha (percussionist), Bikram Chakraborty (guitarist), and Hritambha Dey brought laughter and joy to the hall with a performance that humorously showcased the life of a medical student through catchy tunes and relatable lyrics.
Their act was so delightful that even Trustee Ma’am was seen joyfully humming along, reflecting the relaxed and joyous mood that the segment successfully created.
Award & Felicitation Ceremony
In appreciation of the efforts made by students and participants, a certificate and gift distribution ceremony was held. Students from both batches were felicitated for their active participation, hard work, and contributions to the event. Their dedication and teamwork in bringing this event to life were applauded by all.













Cake Cutting & Conclusion
To conclude the event on a warm and joyous note, a cake-cutting ceremony was organized for all the faculty members. It symbolized celebration, gratitude, and togetherness. The final closing speech, again led by the MCs, offered heartfelt thanks to everyone involved, and acknowledged the collective effort that made the celebration a grand success.

The Doctor’s Day Celebration 2025 at JMN Medical College was a harmonious blend of respect, creativity, emotion, and celebration. Every element of the event—from soulful music to insightful speeches, and from cultural dance to an entertaining quiz—was meticulously planned and beautifully executed.
The entire program was a true reflection of collaborative spirit, where students and faculty came together not only to honor the legacy of the medical profession but also to celebrate the human connection that lies at the heart of healing.
